Meals Included: Welcome Dinner
Our Alaska adventure will begin in Calgary so we can pick up customers as we head south. From Edmonton area pick ups we will make our way to Highway 43, through Whitecourt and into Upper Peace Region where Fox Creek is located. We will cross the Smoky River and conclude our day in Grande Prairie. Enjoy a welcome dinner and get to know your fellow passengers that you are embarking on our Alaska adventure with.
Overnight – Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre

A short drive this morning brings us into BC at Dawson Creek, the official start of the Alaska Highway route that ends in Fairbanks, AK. We will continue north past Fort St. John and Pink Mountain to Fort Nelson where we will make our home for the evening.
Overnight – Lakeview Inn and Suites

We will cross over Summit Pass today which is the highest elevation on the Alaska Highway, stopping at Liard Hot Springs. We will soak in the thermal waters and have time to enjoy a picnic lunch. Continuing on we crisscross the Yukon border before firmly staying north of it and end up in Watson Lake. On arrival we will stop at the Signpost Forest. Bring your sign from home and your Tour Director will have all the necessary supplies to help you put up your own sign before checking in to our hotel for the evening.

Stunning landscapes will come alive as we cross the Continental Divide over the Cassiar Mountains. Following along Teslin and Marsh Lake is a site to behold. Miles Canyon will be a great photo stop and then a visit to the SS Klondike Sternwheeler before we end our day in the capital of the Yukon, Whitehorse.

Today starting from Whitehorse you are transported to Fraser BC where we will board the White Pass and Yukon Railway and traverse almost 28 miles of amazing mountain passes, bridges and tunnels on a fully narrated train ride. You will have time to enjoy Skagway a once bustling gateway for countless gold seekers during the historic gold rush. This evening we return back to Whitehorse

We continue deep into the Yukon wilderness along the Klondike Highway on our way to Dawson City for a 2 night stay. On our way we will have a picnic lunch, and arrive at the frontier town for check in late afternoon. We will gather this evening at Diamond Tooth Gerties Gambling Hall and be entertained by Diamond Tooth Gertie herself and the Gold Rush Girls. You can’t miss a cancan show when in the north.
Overnight – The Downtown (a Coast Hotel)

Today is about exploring this frontier town and learning of its role in the Gold Rush era! No visit to Dawson City would be complete without a visit to Dredge #4, Discovery Claim and the Dawson City Museum. This evening we will visit the Midnight Dome for a panoramic breathtaking view of the rivers and of Dawson City and surrounding area.

Departing Dawson City today we will traverse the “Top of the World Highway” as we cross into Alaska at Little Gold! A brief stop at the Alaska Welcome sign for a picture, a break in Chicken and a stop at the Delta Junction Visitor center. Here we will be awarded with our Alaska highway certificates before we carry on to Fairbanks.

Embark on a city tour which includes a visit to the Santa Clause house a must stop at North Pole, AK. Enjoy lunch on your own at Riverboat Discovery dining hall before embarking on a Riverboat Discovery tour including Chena Village Living Museum, a Bush Pilot demonstration right along side the boat, visit some sled dogs at Trail Breaker Kennels, and be immersed in frontier living first hand with a guided walking tour of an Athabascan village. We end our day with an Alaskan Salmon Bake and entertaining show “Golden Heart Review” at the Palace Theatre
Overnight – Sophies Station

On today’s route, we’ll follow the scenic Parks Highway, offering majestic views of Denali Park and North America’s tallest mountain at 20,310 feet. Along this picturesque route, we’ll make a well-deserved stop at Denali Viewpoint South. We finish our day entering Anchorage and checking in to our downtown hotel for the next 2 evenings.

Our day begins with a city tour and of course a visit to Alaska Wildberry Products. By now as we have been on the go for 11 days you will appreciate a full afternoon at your own pace to explore Anchorage by taking in some of the culture of Alaska’s largest city or just relaxing at our hotel.
Overnight – Clarion Suites Anchorage

This morning we depart to Whittier, where we will have some free time to look around and shop before we take the Alaska Marine Highway system on a ferry through the stunning Prince William Sound. Our vessel will navigate past glaciers closer than the larger ships can. Ending our day in Valdez with plenty of time on your own to enjoy the evening.
Overnight – Totem Hotel and Suites

Departing Valdez we delve into the heart of Alaska’s interior through breathtaking Alaskan landscapes, including Horsetail Falls, Bridal View Falls, and the Worthington Glacier. Our day concludes in Tok where we spend our last evening in Alaska before returning through the Yukon and journey home.

We will make our return to Whitehorse with still new sights to be seen as we cross at the Alcan border. Past Kluane Lake and on to Haines Junction where we will make our way east and return to a familiar hotel of 9 days ago.

We are back on familiar roads today as we start retracing our route home, although from a different angle it seems like an entirely new journey back over the continental divide as we make our way back to Watson Lake today. Once again staying at the same comfortable hotel we had on our route “North to Alaska”

Our last morning in the Yukon as we find ourselves crossing the border back into BC today. Enjoy the scenery as we make our way back to Fort Nelson and for the evening.

Today we make our way south through BC back past Pink Mountain, Fort St John and Dawson Creek. We will check into our last hotel of the tour in Grande Prairie and will gather for our farewell dinner giving us time to visit with new found friends.

Our final day will take us through oil country and past the towns of Valleyview, Fox Creek, Whitecourt and Mayerthorpe on our way back to Edmonton, here we will say farewell and drop off some passengers before making our way south with more drop offs back to our starting point in Calgary. Your bucket list trip to Alaska has come to an end with many pictures, new friends and Miles of Smiles!
