Tour Details by Day

Day 1 – Sunday – February 14, 2027 – Flights – Phoenix and Overnight 

Meals Included: None

Your journey begins with a flight from Edmonton to the sunny Southwest. Upon arrival in Phoenix, transfer to your hotel and settle in for the evening. Enjoy time to relax or explore the surrounding area before the adventure ahead.

Day 2 – Monday – February 15, 2027 – Phoenix  — Tucson — Nuevo Casas Grandes

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

An early morning departure for the adventure ahead, travelling south toward the U.S.–Mexico border. After completing immigration formalities, enjoy lunch before continuing to Nuevo Casas Grandes. Settle into the charming Los Cedros Hotel, followed by a warm home-hosted welcome dinner. A special Mata Ortiz Pottery Demonstration offers a fascinating introduction to the region’s renowned artistic traditions.

Day 3 – Tuesday – February 16, 2027 – Casas Grandes – Chihuahua

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner 

A morning visit to Paquimé (Casas Grandes), Mexico’s northernmost major archaeological site, reveals the remarkable legacy of the ancient Grand Chichimeca civilization, known for its unique adobe structures and ceremonial spaces. The journey continues south toward Chihuahua, with stops along the way to enjoy lunch and learn about the region’s frontier history, once traversed by Apache warriors. Arrival in Chihuahua is followed by check-in at the Courtyard Marriott Chihuahua and an evening featuring regional cuisine.

Day 4 – Wednesday – February 17, 2027 – Chihuahua – Posada Barrancas

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner 

Travel into the dramatic landscapes of the Sierra Tarahumara, passing through fertile ranch-lands and Mennonite communities. A stop in Cuauhtémoc offers insight into this unique cultural enclave. The ascent continues into the mountains, arriving at the Breathtaking Rim of Copper Canyon. Perched high above the canyon floor, Hotel Mirador offers unforgettable view for our two night stay. The evening features a Tarahumara Cultural Presentation, providing a meaningful connection to this remarkable region.

Day 5 – Thursday – February 18, 2027 – Posada Barrancas – Copper Canyon Experience

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner 

A full day unfolds in one of North America’s most awe-inspiring landscapes. Panoramic Viewpoints reveal the vast scale of Copper Canyon, while visits to local artisan areas highlight the craftsmanship of the Tarahumara people. A highlight is the spectacular Copper Canyon Aerial Tramway, descending into the canyon for unforgettable perspectives. Time is available for light hiking or simply soaking in the dramatic scenery before settling back in at the Hotel Mirador 

Day 6 – Friday – February 19, 2027 – Posada Barrancas – El Fuerte (El Chepe Train)

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Board the legendary El Chepe Train for one of the world’s great rail journeys. The route winds through tunnels, across bridges, and along sheer canyon walls as it descends from the Sierra Madre into the lush lowlands. Arrival in the colonial town of El Fuerte brings a step back in time. Check in to the historic Posada del Hidalgo, followed by dinner and Evening Entertainment.
